Its bark comes from somewhere in the dark long before its jaws do, the Yeth Hound is a fey nightmare that hunts by sound, driving prey through swamp and forest until there's nowhere left to run. Use it as a night-hunt encounter in swampland or deep woods, a fey-touched threat stalking a cursed bog quest line, or a pack predator that forces the party to move instead of fight. Dark events near Marshfield are terrifying locals. Disease, rotten crops, and stillborn babies were once seen as bad luck or divine punishment. However, hunters and fishermen began finding small tokens in the swamp—first simple branches, then broken bones, ears, eyes, and entrails, even human entrails. As these gruesome tokens increased, so did the severity of the events. It became clear that all the town’s misfortunes were caused by dark magic whispered from the swamp’s core!
